Saint Mars Furthers Anti-Bullying Advocacy with “I Am the Sea”

International emo synthwave collective, Saint Mars, is a fusion of gifted artists from the UK, US, and Switzerland. The band includes 18-year-old viral sensation, Tryzdin, founding members Marc Darcange and Angelo Bruschini of Massive Attack, bassist/keyboardist Julius Conrad, and a roster of accomplished guests: Billboard n° 1 rapper Jethro "Alonestar" Sheeran, guitarist Brent Paschke (N.E.R.D., Pharrell Williams), and drummer Robert Brian (Siouxsie, Goldfrapp, Simple Minds).

Saint Mars’ mission in their music is anti-bullying advocacy as both Marc and Tryzdin have both experienced and survived bullying. In fact, their new pop and dream pop song “I Am the Sea” is a testament to their dedication to the cause. Saint Mars extends a hand of solidarity to anyone feeling isolated or misunderstood. Their music serves as a powerful beacon of hope, igniting dialogue around the scourge of bullying and its devastating effects.

In fact, “I Am the Sea” narrates a chapter from Marc Darcange's life when at the age of 12, he was on the brink of despair as he experienced a failing home environment and lots of school anxiety. The song connects these experiences to a haunting TV documentary about a 13-year-old French schoolboy who died by suicide due to bullying. The boy's story resonated deeply with Darcange, inspiring the creation of "I Am The Sea" as a shared anthem of their experiences.

The musical arrangement of "I Am The Sea" mirrors the ebb and flow of the sea, with evocative electronic elements adding depth and texture to the composition. The song's melodic and emotive soundscapes create an immersive listening experience that allows the audience to connect with the powerful emotions conveyed in the lyrics.

This song isn’t just about the bullying Saint Mars experienced, he wants to represent the bullying experienced by many. The severity of bullying is always underestimated until it is too late. Saint Mars hopes to share his music for those who succumbed to the pressures of bullying. You don’t have to drown in the ocean of evil, you can gain strength and swim above.

"I Am The Sea" serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of bullying and the resilience of those who face it. It is a moving testament to the strength that can be found amidst adversity, and a call for empathy and understanding in a world where bullying continues to affect the lives of many.
