Singer/Songwriter Jennifer Harper Releases Her Beautiful New Single “Change is Coming”
Jennifer Harper is a musician with a purpose. Though music is in her blood, it wasn’t until her teenage years that she found a new love. She was drawn into alternative-music venues and reggae clubs. Hearing music at political rallies made the deepest impression on the artist.
“I saw how music was motivating change,” Harper said.

During the pandemic, Jennifer was part of 2 women’s circles: one a songwriting circle and the other a mastermind for personal growth, sisterhood, and expansion. This was where “Change is Coming” started. It wasn’t until the mastermind class was given a prompt to use an instrument we never had written on before. In the mastermind that same week, she was inspired by a woman who shared a video of herself drumming. She picked up a small djembe her children used when they were young.
“Prior to the mastermind, I had never heard of the terms ‘sisterhood and motherhood wounds,’ shares Jennifer. “Sharing deeply in intimate circles with successful, spiritual, women around the world throughout the pandemic – I noticed that feelings of being too much, fear of our personal power and comparison were recurring themes. I could easily see how these wounds had played out in my life, but I began to contemplate how they are affecting us on a collective level. The transformation I experienced in sisterhood with these women changed my life in profound ways. I wish that for all women. My song ‘Change is Coming’ is a healing transmission, an offering, sharing my vision and hope. It also represents and anchors in this time of change for me.”
“For as long as I can remember, I have believed in the power women hold as peacemakers. I could see that we were missing opportunities to harness our power when choosing to relate in petty ways and preoccupied with outward appearances as perpetuated by patriarchal society. With visions of the Age of Aquarius - I dreamed of the day when these societal constructs would come down like the Berlin Wall. Although I didn't have a name for it - I now know this was my innate understanding of the divine feminine and my desire for women to rise together,” says Jennifer.
