Premiere: Classical Guitarist Davide Pannozzo Releases his New Blues Single “Be Blessed”

Davide Pannozzo has come to be known as one of the best contemporary blues guitarists there is today. He has the finesse of Jimi Hendrix with the style of Jeff Beck. He’s been playing the guitar since he was six and further studied classical guitar at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he graduated in 2013. He’s performed at a number of festivals and clubs around the United States and Italy and has played with music greats like George Benson, Steve Jordan, Will Lee, David Garfield, Clifford Carter, Phil Palmer and Mark Mondesir to name just a few.

Needless to say, Davide Pannozzo is one impressive artist. While it goes without saying that his music is full of spirit and passion for his work, I’m going to say it anyway. His music is beyond that of any other classic musician I’ve ever heard. He brings it into the 21st century and makes it accessible to anyone who enjoys a good riff. It’s not stuffy, dull, or conventional, like what you think of when you think of a classic musician.

He premieres his new single, “Be Blessed,” a blues and jazz piece with the help of Will Lee on bass, Clifford Carter on keyboards, Davide Rossi on the strings arrangement, and produced by the one and only Steve Jordan, the drummer of the Rolling Stones and Grammy-winning producer. “Be Blessed” is calming, soothing, and thought-provoking. The guitar speaks for the melody and the other instrumentals have a conversation backing Davide’s guitar. Each piece works in tandem with each other, a perfect blend of improvisation without sounding like anything was improvised at all.

“‘Be Blessed’ celebrates the highest and purest love form: the love between father and son,” says Davide. “It's a prayer, an intimate conversation with no words: an invitation to live without fear, embracing the constant changes in our lives with courage and boldness.” His message transcends words and goes straight to the listener’s hearts and minds. Davide’s guitar really does tell you this story and gives a sense of embracing what life has to offer. The guitar speaks to you in a way you could never get with lyrics. You actually understand what he’s telling you.
